Hey! I'm back and feeling much better!

I've been gone a long time. Life just came crashing down all over me and I just couldn't keep up with everything. I dropped just about everything, including blogging. My family needed me and I needed to focus on them and myself.

I'm happy to say that things are much, much better.

For a quick recap (I hope). Ian was pulled out of school by the doctors. I was/am taking care of him full time. We were operating in crises mode. Meanwhile my health started to go down. The doctors wanted me to get help, easier said then done. I spent a fair amount of time trying to find respite care, but so far I have been unsuccessful. My mother did come out to help me for a couple of weeks which was a tremendous relief!

Good timing too, because I needed surgery. I had carpal tunnel surgery earlier this month. I could not sleep at night because of shooting pain. The doctors had me on the strongest medicine they could without actually putting me in the hospital, but it wasn't helping. After calling up in tears, the finally scheduled me for the very next day.

It was a success! No more shooting pain! I actually got to have REM sleep!! Oh I love that REM sleep.

My stitches came out Friday and even though I still have to go to physical therapy, things are so much better. In fact Ian is doing much better too and we are starting to transition him back to school. Slowly though.

There are still many things left to do in regards to Ian, but the doctors are working on it. The have referred us to a specialist at Stanford, but that is another story for another time.

Sorry to hear that you have been going through so much. I'm glad that things seem to be slowly coming together. As parents we want what is best for our children. The problem is that in doing so we often lose ourselves.

You have stayed and will continue to stay in my prayers.

Been a-wondering what happened to you! I check my RSS feed most days to see if you've posted anything - And yesterday, there you were!

Glad to hear that things are coming back under control. Flexibility can be a saving grace, no?

Yes!

Hang in there, Paula!
