Bad Luck.....

I started to write this blog last Friday, but I seem to be having a run of bad luck.

Thursday evening, I broke the hat to a snowman at Starbucks. Thankfully I didn't have to pay for it. I felt horrible, but at least I modeled to the kids how to take responsibility for your actions. Then when I got home, I broke one of my votive candle holders. I was crushed. I just sat down and cried. The kids were very sweet and helped me to clean up and gave me kisses.

Friday, I was in sad and depressed mood most of the morning. It hasn't helped that Ian has been having a hard time to all this week and the office kept calling me that morning. The afternoon went better because I got to go to both of the kids holiday class parties. It was a lot of fun.

Kristin had a friend spend the night, to her great delight and Ian's horror. He was a positive horror too. Then as I'm trying to hang up greenery on our fireplace mantle I break my Santa stocking holder that I've had for years and years. I just put everything down and walked away. I decided I had better not touch anything. I'm just too dangerous!

Saturday, Kristin went to her friends house to spend the day and night. I remember having weekend long play dates with my friends as a kid. It was always the best time. It was nice for Tim and I to spend some one on one time with Ian and not be at the doctor's. We did have some Christmas shopping to do and Ian was very well behaved with us.

That night however, bad luck struck again. My laptop kept hanging. I ran some tests on it and discovered that my hard drive was failing. Great!! I have a final today too and I had my study notes on there. Luckily, I had printed my class notes. Normally, I don't buy extended warranties, they usually are not worth the money, but I did this time and I'm glad. I've taken it into the shop and they are going to fix it. I've asked them to make a backup for me of all the files. They are charging me $100 to do that. What a rip off! However, I don't have the time nor the inclination to do it myself and if it wasn't for all the pictures that I just put on there, I wouldn't do it. I don't want to lose those pictures, they are irreplaceable.

So that has been my life. I haven't even been able to get blogger to work well for me. On hindsight though, it may have been my laptop and not blogger giving me all the problems. I have been trying to load up the Disney pic's for my 13 Thursday too. I'll have to do that this week.

I'm going to try and get some exercise before I take my test today. I've just read an article that exercise helps your mental functioning. Hmmm, helps my brain as well as my body. I can use all that help I can get.

Exercise definitely helps you mentally. As for breaking things, we all have those days. That's when you walk away and have some eggnog or chocolate. Or both.
