Last night Ian was suicidal. Thankfully it really scared him and he came to me right away. We calmed him down and he fell asleep in daddies lap. I called his psychologist right away and had a long discussion with her. She had just gone to a conference on Pediatric Bipolar and had learned quite a lot. She learned some new info about medicine and how it can affect children, especially children with Bipolar. Lots of times doctors will suggest SSRI's or Tricyclic antidepressants for children with Anxiety problems or ADHD. Often times the medicine is a great help, but for Bipolar children, it can send them into manic or depressive phases. This has been happening with Ian. Every medicine we have tried, he has gone into what only can be described as a "manic" phase to depression and no suicidal thoughts.
We took him off his medicine, but we have not been able to get a hold of his doctor at Children's. We have an appointment with his pediatrician within the hour. I've kept him home and am keeping a close watch on him. He does remember what happened last night, but he does not feel that way so far today. He does still feel quite nauseas. He has been feeling that way constantly for the past few day.
Please prayer for Ian. He needs all the positive thoughts we can give him.

Wow. He's in my prayers now. I'll put him on a prayer list. Hug the little man for me.
How about a vacation to the beautiful Atlanta area for you and Ian. Maybe playing with Kitten will help? And I can make you a martini.
You are in my thoughts. What a scary time for all of you. Ian is so fortunate to have a mother like you seems to be.
Ian is in my prayers. I am so sorry to hear about your night.
Please let me know if you need anything.
I send a prayer.
St. Theresa's Prayer:
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you....
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.... Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance,
praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
